As Vice President and General Manager, Arena Operations for Rogers Arena it was my responsibility to lead our team in working with VANOC for the planning of the 2010 olympic hockey tournament to be hosted in our arena.
The planning for an event of this magnitude is a daunting task. At the outset VANOC assigned Marguerite to our venue. This turned out to be a blessing for my team. She was incredibly quick at learning the intricacies of our building design and operating procedures. She established an outstanding working relationship with all the key members of my team.
Over the time that she worked with us she established a sound fundamental plan for how our venue would be used and operated during the games, satisfying both the VANOC requirements and our operating requirements. We were disappointed when she was reassigned to another venue but the sound fundamentals she established have allowed us to work seamlessly with the new VANOC staff in completing the final details of our planning.
